Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
A bountiful table for Thanksgiving with church family and friends
Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good; his love is eternal”. 1 Chronicles 16:34

“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can . . . ”
“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” Vincent van Gogh, Dutch Artist
But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.

Greeters Margaret and Wilmer Byers posed for our camera-girl before the 2015 Style Show and Luncheon got underway. The Byers’s friendly smiles greeted each guest, welcoming them as they entered the fellowship hall last Friday.
The Grand Finale brings each model back into the Fellowship Hall following the second round of fashions. The fifteen lovely models garner another round of applause as they circle the room, returning to the stage with final words from our moderator, Donna Alexander.

Crafternoon! Youth and adult crafters gathered for an informal session of creativity on Saturday, November 14.
We recalled how the Bible teaches us that, “In the beginning God created…” Genesis 1:1 . . .
And that even though we were creating an afternoon of reindeer, mangers, and general fun,
God calls us to create goodness and love with all our being.
We all enjoyed it “deerly” ;0 )
Stay tuned for our next session which we will announce ahead of time.

God of Love and Compassion,
We have come to ask for your protection for those who are being sent to faraway places to prepare for our defense. Before this season of unrest, we had grown comfortable with thinking of them only as they relate to us — as our parents and spouses, our sons and daughters, our neighbors and friends. We look forward to a day when no community will ever be asked to release its loved ones for purposes of war. But today, Lord, history and circumstances force us to release them into your care and into our country’s service. We pray for their safe return; and not only for theirs, but for the safe return of others who are being sent from communities, so much like ours, in other parts of the world. As they face the myriad challenges and decisions that each day is destined to bring, may they be anchored by their faith, protected by your presence, and comforted by the knowledge that they are loved by you and by this community.
We bless them in your name, and look forward to their safe return, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Don, Arlie, Barbara, Alton, Shelly, Jim, and others helped with the FUMC booth
There were 25+ families from our church that participated with this year’s Scare on the Square by donating candy, and/or time – including but not limited to running a game; manning the FUMC booth, the drink booth, “gophering” and trunk or treat. Thank you for supporting this event. One of the major participants with Scare on the Square is not pictured, Billie Gilcrease, thanks for all you do. There are numerous pictures on Face Book, search “scare on the square”. Here are a few of those pictures.
