Each day the children will participate in making their own art projects, singing new music, exploring science activities, taking part in recreational activities and enjoying tasty snacks. Bible stories will reveal five Action Words for following God’s planĀ  for their lives. Along the way, they will hear about a mission project that will move them in their faith while having fun.

So LET’S GO!! Join us at Hemphill First United Methodist Church June 15 through June 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon; children ages 3 years through students entering grade six. To register or to find out more about G-Force: God’s Love in Action, call the church office at 409-787-2183.

The seniors of Hemphill High School were feted by members of the First United Methodist Church. It is with great enthusiasm the ladies of the United Methodist women as well as other church members decorate and prepare for the graduating class of 2015 as has been done for the last 32 years. It’s a pleasure to serve these well-mannered young people.IMG_0043 (2)

IMG_1203 (2)powellDr. Donald Powell was the speaker for the United Methodist Women’s May meeting. He spoke of his pilgrimage on The Way of St. James. St. James, the Patron Saint of Spain, was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. During the Middle Ages the Way of St. James was one of the most important Christian pilgimages to the shrine of the apostle St. James the Great. As a community service, the public was invited to attend Dr. Powell’s informative speech and slide show presentation.
