VBS 2013 – Day Two – Neighbors are Giving

After a wonderful opening day with 35 VBS “neighbors,” our numbers increased on day two when eight additional neighbors came for the first time swelling our total attendees to 43. Yea for Everywhere Fun Fair VBS!!!

The newest addition to VBS is a 3-year old self-contained class. Shown here enjoying play time on the portico with sidewalk chalk. They also enjoy having a Bible Story read by Pastor Karen and music by Tommye Sue Carlson, accompanied by guitarist, Mart Gooch, among other things.

Games of past generations are still enjoyed by our VBS neighbors. Laughing and enjoying a game of chase with variations makes the friendtastic guide (teacher), Nicole Corley , smile at their antics. Instructions being given by Arlie Broadaway

In our Bible story today, neighbors met a widow who gave food to Elijah, God’s servant. She gave all the oil and flour she had to feed him, trusting that God would take care of her and her son. The neighbors (children) listened intently to the story while the actors portrayed the story without speaking.
